ADTi Surveyor camera control

ADTi Surveyor camera control #
  • ADTi Surveyor camera control is supported via Serial API of the camera. Make sure your camera has serial port. USB port is used for geotagging.
  • Serial control is done from UNI port of the ENTIRE in mode “ADTi Ctrl” to serial port of the camera. ADTi cable set is available at our store.
  • ADTi Surveyor cameras are based on Sony hardware, so configuration presented here matches for multiple models. We selected two models to present configuration, however same settings can be used also for different ADTi models based on same Sony cameras.
  • Supported models:
    • ADTi Surveyor 24L V2
    • ADTi Surveyor 42L
    • ADTi Surveyor 61S
    • ADTi Surveyor 61S Pro

ADTi Surveyor 24L v2 #

AIR Commander ENTIRE can control full exposure values and also provide geotagging. Control is done via “ADTi Ctrl” connection and geotagging via Multiport cable.

STEP 1

  • Configure ENTIRE UNI A / B / C port in the menu to “ADTi Ctrl mode”.

STEP 1a

  • Configure ENTIRE to “Direct EXIF” geotagging mode.
  • Make sure your ENTIRE is set to USB control mode!
  • Follow proper geotagging manual (Simple | Universal | Gremsy) for configuration of geotagging!

STEP 2

  • Connect ADTi Ctrl secondary cable from UNI A (or B/C) to the camera 4pin JST connector. Our ADTi wiring package contains separate cable for this connection.

STEP 3

  • Connect ADTi Ctrl main cable to the camera main 8pin JST connector.
  • Connect ADTi Ctrl main cable 3pin to the EXT port
  • Connect JST XH connector to the uBEC (power adaptor)

STEP 4

  • Connect Multiport cable included in ADTi wiring package to the USBMULTI and to the Camera “Micro USB”.

STEP 5

  • Make sure you selected correct ADTi camera model in the ENTIRE menu via MENU->Miscs.->ADTi options
 

STEP 6

  • Use MavCam or Link to navigate through Camera MENU to
    • CustomKey Mapping

 

  • Configure buttons:
    • Center button – Exposure Com.
    • Right button – ISO

STEP 7

  • This new configuration must be saved in the camera, this must be done by remote power off (not remove power).
  • Make sure you configured “Power toggle” function to custom buttons C1 or C2 or C3 via ENTIRE’s MENU Link mapping
  • Use MavCam and remotely trigger C1 (or C2 or C3) to remotely power OFF the camera. This will save current CustomKey mappings.

READY!

  • At this point should direct control for:
    • APERTURE + | –
    • S.SPEED + | –
    • ISO + | –
    • EXP. CORRECTION + | –
  • If some of above direct controls does not work:
    • check custom key mappings
    • check if proper ADTi model is selected

    • in submenu select “Control Wheel” and click OK
    • in submenu scroll to “Toggle My Dial 1“, click OK
    • in submenu scroll to “Exposure Comp., click OK

STEP 8

  • Configure button 4 – Right button:
    • in submenu select “Control Wheel” and click OK
    • in submenu scroll to “Toggle My Dial 2“, click OK
    • in submenu scroll to “ISO“, click OK

STEP 9

  • Configure button 5 – Down button:
    • in submenu select “Control Wheel” and click OK
    • in submenu scroll to “Toggle My Dial 3“, click OK
    • in submenu scroll to “Aperture“, click OK

 

STEP 10

  • This new configuration must be saved in the camera, this must be done by remote power off (not remove power).

MountBOX installation #

Because ENTIRE needs to be mounted close to the camera and uses multiple connections, we decided to create box for easier cable management. MountBOX will hide unnecessary length of cables and also PowerAdaptor (uBEC) for the ENTIRE.

STEP 1

  • Use included short power cable for the ENTIRE to connect PowerAdaptor
  • Connect cable from the camera (power) to matching port of PowerAdaptor
  • Connect external power cable to PowerAdaptor

  • At this point you should connect also MavLink cable or ExtensionBOX to the ENTIRE (If you decided to use Gremsy geotagging set or Universal geotagging set)
    • Follow geotagging manuals for configuration and connection for geotagging (Simple | Universal | Gremsy)

STEP 2

  • Insert the ENTIRE, PowerAdaptor and cables into the MountBOX
  • Be careful not to squeeze the cables during the closing

STEP 3

  • Close the box and mount it to the camera back using self-adhesive dots
  • Connect cables to the camera
    • Connect JST GH 8 pin to the camera
    • Connect Multiport connector
