USB-C connection issues

USB connection issues #
  • There are known issues with USB-C cables shipped between July 2023 and Feb 2024
  • Connection issues are not related to Sony camera connection, however issues may be present for other brands like Canon or BlackMagic
  • Please make sure there is no other issue in USB-C connection / configuration before you will start this procedure.
  • We strongly suggest to contact us before following this manual.
  • This issue is related only to cable on the picture –>
USB-C-issue
Correction procedure #
  • All you need to do is to remove R1 resistor from USB-C connector
Remove isolation #
  • Cut the heatshring tube isolation from USB-C connector
  • Be carefull to not cut wires
  • Be carefull to not scratch PCB inside
  • Cut the heatshring tube isolation from USB-C connector
  • Be carefull to not cut wires
  • Be carefull to not scratch PCB inside
Remove R1 resistor #
  • Now you need to remove R1 resistor from PCB
  • You can use solderer
  • Removal can be done also with small pincer cutters
  • Make sure the R1 resistor is fully removed and pads are not shortcut
Install new isolation #
  • You are done, install new heatshrink tube or other isolation
  • Test connection with your camera
